What is a Master Herbalist? Many people have asked me, "what exactly is a master herbalist?" So here is a basic explanation of what a Master Herbalist is and does. A Master Herbalist is a health teacher or educator. A Master Herbalist is NOT a medical doctor and so does not diagnose illness, prescribe medicine (natural or otherwise), or treat patients (not because they are not capable, but because of the large medical lobby in Washington that is constantly striving to place as many legal restrictions as possible on their competition). (See Terms and Disclosures) A Master Herbalist believes that everyone should be their own "doctor" and take care of themselves without being dependent on medical professionals. What is the difference between an Herbalist and a medical doctor? At the most basic level, a doctor uses toxic dangerous treatments to help you feel better fast, but usually leaves you with your disease. An Herbalist helps you get well by correcting the original cause of your disease so you can feel great for life without being dependent on drugs. There is an old Chinese proverb that states, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." So it may help you to think of it like this: a doctor gives you a fish, but an herbalist teaches you how to fish... "Give a man a pill and you help him for a day; teach a man how to care for himself and you help him for a lifetime." A Master Herbalist believes in: preventing disease through nutrition and a healthy lifestyle; eradicating the root cause of illness, rather than just suppressing its symptoms, as allopathic medicine does; healing the body, as a whole, through natural methods; educating others so that they can supply their own health care for themselves, their families and their friends. A Master Herbalist uses safe and effective wholesome herbs and herbal products to address the cause of illness... a Master Herbalist does not employ dangerous, toxic, or habit-forming medicines, preparations of isolated chemicals in an unnatural state, or invasive procedures that interfere with natural processes (in other words, no pharmaceutical drugs or other violations of the Hippocratic Oath); Master Herbalists employ herbs and other natural aids with prudence and skill to ensure complete safety and maximum benefit.

My MissionStatement
I believe that absolutely everyone can be well using the natural healing
gifts that our Creator has made available to us. What I do is teach
people how these techniques have been used and are being used to heal
disease, repair injuries, and produce optimum health for people of all
ages. I am not a doctor, so I don't diagnose illness or prescribe
medicine. I believe that everyone should be their own doctor by learning
how to care for themselves and their loved ones, and I am privileged to
be able to provide educational information to my clients on a variety of
health related topics. I hope to one day make myself unnecessary by
teaching everyone how to care for themselves on their own.
Personal and Business Philosophy I
believe that God has provided us with absolutely everything that we need
to be completely well. We must simply discover how to use His healing
gifts to eliminate our diseases. Dr. John Christopher (as well as many
others) taught, and I firmly believe, that there are NO incurable
diseases, although there are a few incurable people, that is, those who
refuse to do everything that is necessary to get well, and those who's
"time has come", for we will all die some day.
My PersonalExperience with HealingNo one wants to go to a single marriage counselor, so here's a little bit about my history with Natural Healing: I had a number of life altering ailments when I was a child, including: food allergies, hay fever, asthma, eczema, warts, acne, flat feet, frequent bouts of colds and flu, etc. None of these were life-threatening at the time, though they certainly could have become so. They were, however, enough to keep me from living the kind of life that I wanted to live; I couldn't spend too much time outside in the summer, I couldn't participate in any strenuous exercise, it was embarrassing being around people with all the skin problems... But something separated me from most other people who had the same problems - I was desperate to find a way out. I was willing to do whatever it took to get well and be rid of those maddening afflictions. I prayed for God to heal me - and He did, but not in the way I expected. I started looking around for cures. First, of course, my parents took me to medical doctor after medical doctor after medical doctor. They put me on all kinds of prescriptions which would help with the immediate symptoms, but I was getting steadily worse and worse over time, and two of the drugs they had me on - as I found out much later - could have killed me at the drop of a hat. The doctors never told me or my parents about any of those side-effects. Then someone suggested that we see a nutritionist. My parents took me to see her. My progress with her wasn't very fast, but for the first time, I was actually getting better in some areas instead of worse. Then we went to see a chiropractor who recommended some supplements and I got a little better still. But even though my ailments were starting to come under control, they were still there. When I started junior high school, two things happened: One, it was very stressful for me and the stress lowered my immunity and I started getting colds much more often, but my asthma and other problems continued their gradual slow improvement. Second, I started reading some books and magazines about health, I got on a few mailing lists, talked to a few people, and decided that I had to start taking responsibility for my own health, because the doctors were only trying to kill me and no one else seemed able to give me more than partial relief. I started studying everything I could get my hands on about health and checking out every "miracle cure" I ever heard of. Over the years I found some that worked, some that didn't, and some that carried side-effects that I didn't care for. Over time, I collected the ones that worked into a complete healing program and then, just before I entered high school, I found a Naturopathic doctor (like a medical doctor except with extensive training in natural and wholistic healing methods) who said he just wanted to help people take care of themselves and eliminate their dependence on "modern medicine." He made everything so simple a child could understand it and didn't try to sell me thousands of dollars of weird products. All he was selling was information. I bought every information product he had at the time, studied like a fiend, and started using some of his techniques. For the first time in my life I was making very rapid progress toward a total cure. My last two years of high school, instead of being absent 30 + days due to sickness, which was the norm for me, I had perfect attendance - twice in a row - even when every other person in the class was out sick, there I was and I was feeling just fine. I knew I was on to something. I was enjoying herbology so much as a hobby that I thought, "Why not make it my profession?" Then I found the School of Natural Healing, the oldest herbal school in the USA and in my opinion, the best. The Naturopath whose materials had taught me so much had been trained there (as well as at several other schools). I enrolled in their Master Herbalist certification program a couple weeks before my high school graduation and finished two years later. I had been thinking about adding Massage therapy to my practice and I had been missing school, so I enrolled in the Colorado School of Healing Arts' fast track program and graduated from that 6 months later. I now practice in an office in Wheatridge, Colorado, helping others to find perfect health as I did (in a small fraction of the time it took me)... and teaching on the internet.
